Duarte is a small and welcoming city with a relaxed, family-friendly vibe. While large restaurants like The Old Spaghetti Factory are available, the city is filled with small family-owned restaurants and shops. The community comes together for a festive Fourth of July fireworks celebration every year.
Duarte is known for its outdoor activities. Its proximity to the San Gabriel Mountains offers rigorous hiking. Within Duarte, the Donald and Bernice Watson Recreation Trail spans most of the city along Royal Oaks Drive, and is perfect for biking, dog walking, jogging or a casual stroll. It terminates at the lovely Royal Oaks Park, which offers basketball, tennis, volleyball (and soon pickleball) courts, along with plenty of tree-covered areas for picnics and BBQ's. In fact, Duarte has a surprising number and breadth of parks, ranging from Sports Parks, to Skate Parks, to Nature Parks and Children's Playgrounds.
Golfers will enjoy the Rancho Duarte Golf Course, a beautiful 9-hole, Par 3 and 4 course, and the Duffer's Bar and Grill is available for needed refreshment, sports TV, music and karaoke. For race fans, the Irwindale Speedway in neighboring Irwindale offers drag, demolition and drift racing, along with other events. And for those who prefer a hands-on approach to history, the Renaissance Pleasure Faire is also available in Irwindale in April and May.
An appraiser in Duarte requires a deep familiarity with the city and its communities in order to produce an accurate appraisal. As a prior resident of neighboring Monrovia, Sonja Troncoso at Hillside Appraisal has been servicing the Duarte and San Gabriel Valley with real estate related services since 1985.
